Following the success of Taith Ysbryd y Mimosa in 2025 – which will depart in November with 50 travellers booked to support Rhys Meirion and Pedair – we now look forward to 2026 and an exciting new adventure.

The Spirit of the Mimosa Tour 2026: Rhys Meirion, Bwncath and Tudur Owen to Patagonia is a unique and emotional musical and literary journey linking Wales and Patagonia through song, history, humour, and culture. Led by renowned Welsh tenor Rhys Meirion, popular band Bwncath, and much-loved comedian and presenter Tudur Owen, this tour retraces the footsteps of the Welsh settlers who arrived on the Mimosa in 1865, carrying their dreams of a new home to the far-off lands of Argentina.

The journey will begin in Porth Madryn, the port where the Mimosa landed, before travelling to the Dyffryn – including Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon – and then on to the Andes to Esquel and Trevelin, where celebrations will include marking the discovery of Cwm Hyfryd by the Rifleros de Chubut. Through a series of performances in community halls, visits to chapels, emotional singalongs, events with the local community, nosweithiau llawen (traditional Welsh entertainment evenings) and asados (Argentinian barbecues), the tour will bring communities together in a celebration of music, history and friendship.

The tour will also include a visit to Buenos Aires, enjoying a detailed city tour and a traditional tango evening, offering a taste of Argentina’s vibrant capital before returning home (or continuing on one of our extensions in South America)
