Terms & Conditions

  1. About Us

Teithiau Patagonia is a UK-based tour operator specialising in cultural and heritage tours to Patagonia, including the Welsh-speaking area known as Y Wladfa. All flight-inclusive package holidays are sold in conjunction with our fully bonded ATOL-licensed flight and package partner.

  1. Your Contract

When you make a booking with Teithiau Patagonia, you are entering into a contract with Teithiau Patagonia for land arrangements and with our ATOL-bonded partner for flights and any flight-inclusive package elements. These Terms & Conditions apply to all bookings made with Teithiau Patagonia / Patagonia Tours.

  1. Making a Booking

A booking is made when you complete our booking form and pay the required deposit.

  • A £500 fully refundable deposit is requested to confirm your place on the tour.
  • This deposit is fully refundable until either:
  1. a) flights have been booked on your behalf, or
  2. b) you confirm in writing by email that you wish to proceed 100% with the booking.

Once either of the above occurs, your deposit becomes non-refundable, and the booking is deemed confirmed.

  1. Booking Confirmation

Your booking is only confirmed once:

  • flights are booked on your behalf, or
  • you confirm by email that you wish to proceed 100%,
  • and we issue a written booking confirmation.

Until this point, your place on the tour remains provisional.

  1. Payments
  • A £500 fully refundable deposit is requested to confirm your place on the tour.
  • Once the booking is confirmed, 50% of the remaining tour balance (after deduction of the £500 deposit) is payable to our ATOL-bonded partner.
  • The full remaining balance is payable 10 weeks before departure.
  • All balance payments will be taken by our ATOL-bonded partner, who will issue payment instructions and receipts.
  • Once taken, all balance payments are non-refundable.

Failure to pay any balance by the due date may result in cancellation of your booking and loss of deposit.

Payment Schedule Example

For a tour priced at £5,500 per person:

  • £500 deposit paid at booking (fully refundable until confirmation)
  • Remaining balance: £5,000
  • 50% of the remaining balance on confirmation: £2,500
  • Final balance 10 weeks before departure: £2,500

Once taken, all balance payments are non-refundable.

  1. Changes or Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to make changes to itineraries, accommodation, transport, or other arrangements due to operational reasons or circumstances beyond our control.

Where significant changes are necessary, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible and offer suitable alternatives or a refund in line with applicable regulations.

We also reserve the right to cancel a tour if minimum group numbers are not reached or due to circumstances beyond our control.

  1. Flights and ATOL Protection

Where your booking includes flights, these are provided through our ATOL-bonded partner.

Your flight-inclusive holiday is protected under the ATOL scheme, and you will receive an ATOL Certificate confirming your financial protection once flights are booked.

  1. Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is essential.  We highly recommend that this is arranged by you at the time of booking.

Your insurance should cover cancellation, medical expenses, personal belongings, and repatriation.

  1. Passports, Visas, and Health Requirements

You are responsible for ensuring that you hold a valid passport, any necessary visas (British Citizens do not require a visa for Argentina), and meet all health requirements for travel.

Teithiau Patagonia cannot accept responsibility for delays or costs arising from incorrect documentation.

  1. Your Responsibilities

You agree to behave in a manner that does not cause distress, danger, or inconvenience to others.

We reserve the right to terminate your holiday arrangements without refund if your behaviour is deemed unacceptable.

  1. Complaints

If you have a complaint during your tour, please raise it immediately with your tour leader or local representative so it can be addressed promptly.

If the issue is not resolved, you must submit a written complaint within 28 days of your return.

  1. Force Majeure

We shall not be liable for failure to perform our obligations due to events beyond our reasonable control.
